  Phe & Chandra Sandrasegara
Chandra Sandrasegara provides the Sri Lankan 'connection'. He and his wife Phe Affleck live in Paddington with their 14 year old son Rory. Chandra is a Sri Lankan born Barrister, practising in Sydney. Phe works as a Registered Nurse with Justice Health. Rory is in Year 9 at school. Phe and Sandy travel regularly to Colombo to visit family and friends.
Chandra is an active supporter of the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Inc., an organization set up to give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth a future through sport.

  Bruce & Laura Cunningham
Long time friends of Chandra, Laura and Bruce Cunningham live in Mosman with their daughter Pippa (17). Bruce is a 747 Captain with Qantas Airlines, while Laura works as a School Administrator at a local high school. Pip is in her final year at school. This was their first time in Sri Lanka!

  David & Robbie Grant
Husband and wife Robbie and David Grant live in Kiama, 2 hours south of Sydney, NSW. David is a General Practitioner while Robbie is a Community Nurse. They are actively involved in the local Lions Club. Robbie is Phe's older sister. This was their second trip to Sri Lanka, having holidayed there in 1997.

  Pat Kandiah
Chandra's nephew Pat Kandiah, holidaying with the group during the Tsunami, makes up the last member of the group and lives in Melbourne where he works in IT Systems Operations with Telstra. This was Pat's first trip back in 20 years.

  Garry Scarborough
Garry is the Managing Director and Marketing Consultant for M.M. Ferguson Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, Australia.

He was attached to Avaya Asia Pacific as the Vice President of Marketing with responsibility for Avaya's marketing programs across the region. Garry led the Asia Pacific marketing team and provided strategic direction and leadership to the region on marketing communication, branding, channel marketing, marketing programs, GSI and alliance marketing, events, sponsorships and briefing centres.

A trained solicitor, Garry has 20 years of experience in the fields of marketing and sales. Prior to joining Avaya, he was the Marketing Director for Cisco Systems (Greater China) and later held the position of Marketing Director for Hitachi Data Systems, Asia Pacific.

Garry received his education at the University of Sydney where he finished his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Economics). He also has an MBA (Marketing) from the London Business School.

  Larry King, SC
Larry was born and educated in Newcastle. Initially admitted as a solicitor, Larry was admitted as a Barrister to the Supreme Court of NSW in 1976. Larry has been a prominent member of the Common Law Division of the NSW Bar, taking Silk in November 1994. He has been a Senior Bar Council member since 1999.

Larry is also a Life member of the Australian Primary Club www.primaryclub.net


 
  James Evans
For the past 30 years James has worked in the fields of social and economic development both in Australia and overseas. He is currently Business Manager of Elton Consulting, a Sydney based company that specialises in community development in Australia, particularly in new master planned communities. The company has been offering support to the Friends of Sri Lanka Trust since its founding members returned from Sri Lanka in January 2005. He was elected a Trustee on 8th November 2005.
